Brisbane Dances

Black and Mack (aka Phil Black "Blacky" and Ian McKenzie "Ian") did a market survey which found there was a need for a regular dance in the Brisbane city metropolitan area on Saturday nights.

Sure, there are heaps of RSL clubs, Football clubs, and Bowls clubs etc., which have a "small" dance floor and live music. But Black and Mack's survey showed there was not to their knowledge any regular Saturday night dance in Brisbane with live music giving an eclectic mix of Rock 'n' Roll, Ballroom, Latin and circle dances changing partners.

Well, there is now!

Brisbane Dances have a Tribute to Elvis night organised for Saturday 18 August at the Mt Gravatt Bowls club in Brisbane. ( it is the 30th anniversary of Elvis's death on 16 August) Cathy Drummond will be performing and the dance will be held from 7.00pm to Midnight. Other regular Saturday night dances will follow. Details are on Brisbane Dances web site www.brisbanedances.com .

Before the end of 2007, Black and Mack's Saturday night dances will be a regular event for Brisbane dancers to look forward to. Check the web site regularly for updates.

The cost of attending these dances is being kept to a minimum..., only $10.00. So they are sure to become popular events.

That's all for now

Happy Dancing

Ian McK.
